Georgie Porgie Pudding and Pie...

Georgie, originally uploaded by gradschoolknitter.

I don't know why but when I went to name this guy in my ravelry projects, that nursery rhyme about King George popped into my head. So his name is Georgie. He'll be sent off to the Mother Bear Project via Lovelyarns, just as soon as I'm back in town. Which is in just slightly more than a week. Weird.

I modified the pattern again, before I've worked the legs in double knit fashion (post outlines how to knit the bear in the round) but this time I tried casting on the feet as you would with toe-up socks. Much the same results, I suppose. I also cast on more stitches and worked more rows so that he would be a decent size since all the yarns use are left over sock yarns, on size 2 needles. He would have been a very small bear otherwise.

Sadly, though, Georgie will have to wait until we get home to be stuffed and finished up. In his current state he will fit much more easily into the suitcase... but we don't talk about that 'cause he's not very fond of dark spaces! :P

That's adorable! I'm currently doing mitts for my grandmother, employing the five needle strategy. Wish me luck.

You're back to B'more in just one week! Wow, time is flying. I've got a week left here too. I'll FB my contact info.

I agree, it's totally cute.

I also totally think you should make a big size one of these for Dougie.

Heh. Love your guts, babe.

Good luck with the mitts Dougie... you should post a picture when you're done!

LL: that's why I teach my friends to knit... so that I don't have to do it for them!!
